Review by Red Adept Reviews

The Legend of the Seahawk received 4 Stars from Red Adept Reviews!  Needles to say, I am very pleased. The reviews from Red Adept are very thorough (in my opinion) and I was both nervous and hopeful upon learning my book would be scrutinized.   These reviews are broken down and addressed in categories (personally I like this style):

  • Overall Rating
  • Plot/Storyline
  • Characters
  • Writing style
  • Editing

Small sample of the Red Adept Review:

“Characters: 4 1/2 stars

The principal characters were well developed, and it was easy to feel empathy toward them. David Parker was an ambitious young journalist from New York City. Claire Reid was a local woman who served as a volunteer guide at the town’s historic lighthouse. They made a good team as they worked together to solve the mystery of the Seahawk and its captain, Scott Spear.”

Reading The Classics

I do not normally come up with New Year resolutions, but for 2011 I think I’ll plan to read A Classic per month.  Anyone out there wish to join me in this resolution??  First we have to come up with a list of Classics – I suppose there are some that are the most well known, and others that depend on your particular taste.  I have started a list here; I ask, if you would – to add to this list.

  1. Moby Dick by Herman Melville
  2. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain
  3. Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck
  4. The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway
  5. A Tale Of Two Cities by Charles Dickens
  6. Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
  7. The Adventures of Sherlock Homes by Arthur Conan Doyle
  8. The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck
  9. Gulliver’s Travels by Jonathan Swift

What others would you add to this list?

This movie finally came out in DVD – a real treat!  During my research of lighthouses for my book I certainly gained respect for those Keepers of the Light.
