Coincidence?
Soon after I started writing this novel, I took a day trip to a nearby lighthouse. Partaking in the self-guided tour, I was extremely amazed by what I saw. The first room I entered displayed a number of photographs on the walls. The one that caught my attention was that of a gentleman by the name of Stuart (I do not recall his first name). As you will find out, in reading my book, "This painting is of the Stuart family, the town’s namesake. Captain George Stuart, who served in the British Royal Navy from 1755 to 1768, is shown with his wife Mary and their two sons, James and Robert.”

Inspiration

The inspiration for this book came to me in a dream I had a few years ago. I have not had a dream like this before or since. Luckily, this occurred during the weekend; as a result, I was able to spend time thinking about the dream, filling in the areas that were "fuzzy" or nonexistent. I was surprised how easily these events came to me; it was as if they just "popped into my head." One character’s name was an example of this. There was no question; his name was to be "Danny." The book’s conclusion was not part of the dream; therefore, I had to work that out later.
